On the Ongoing Pain, Loss, and Suffering in Iran

The Iranian-Australian Health Professionals (IRAHP) community is deeply saddened and distressed by the ongoing violence, loss of life, and suffering occurring in Iran.

As health professionals, and as people with deep personal, cultural, and familial ties to Iran, we are witnessing events that are profoundly painful. Lives have been lost. Families have been torn apart. Countless individuals have been injured physically, emotionally, and psychologically. The scale of grief and trauma is immense.

This statement is not made from a political position, nor in support of any group, party, or ideology. It comes solely from a place of humanity and care, from a shared recognition of pain, loss, and the sanctity of human life.

Many within the Iranian-Australian community are struggling at this time, grieving loved ones, worrying for family and friends, and carrying the emotional weight of watching events unfold from afar. We acknowledge that this pain is real, valid, and deeply personal.

IRAHP stands in solidarity with all those affected.

We also wish to extend a sincere offer of support. As a community of health professionals, we recognise the toll that trauma, grief, and fear can take on mental and emotional wellbeing.
